Have you ever tried running with weights? It's hard! It takes way more effort. We all know that life is like a race we are running. Many of us carry unneeded baggage in our lives that gets in the way of our running the race God has marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1 says this: "...let us throw off all that hinders and the sin that so actually entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us..." Sin is the worst baggage of all. It wholly hinders us from running the best race we maybe can. Here is a fun Sunday School lesson from the Bible I believe your kids will enjoy to help them learn this verse and the truth it teaches. It's called "Run the Race".

What I said. It just isn't in conclusion that the real about Homeschool Planner Software. You see this article for facts about an individual need to know is Homeschool Planner Software.

Here's what you do:

Divide your children into 2 lines, one at either end of the room. One child is chosen to be It, and each of the other children are given names of one of the disciples. It's Ok if you have duplicates. Write the names of the disciples on a board so that the children can see them. The child who is It will stand in the middle between the 2 lines, and will call the name of 2 disciples. The children whose "names" were called must run to the opposite line. If It succeeds in catching one of the children before he reaches the other line, the child who is caught becomes It, and the one who was previously It joins the line the child was attempting to reach, taking the disciple's name of the child caught. After each time a child is caught, have your whole class communicate Hebrews 12:1 together and then play continues.

Before playing "Run the Race" you may want to introduce this lesson in the following way:

(For this presentation, you will need a backpack and 3 to 4 large rocks.)

Could I please have a volunteer? (Wait for a child to volunteer.) Great! Now could you place this backpack on and run nearby the room one time. (Wait for child to run.) Super! You're a good runner. There's nothing in your backpack to weigh you down. But what if we added something in the backpack like this rock which represents lies you've told? (Put it in the pack.) Or how about this rock of disrespect? (Put it in the pack.) Your backpack doesn't feel quite so light now, huh? Now, let's see you run nearby the room. (Wait for child to run.) Which was easier? (Wait for response.) Hebrews 12:1 says this: "...let us throw off all that hinders and the sin that so actually entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us..."

Life is like a race God has marked out for us, but many Christians have sin and other "baggage" in their lives that keep them from running this race the best they can. Getting rid of all the bad stuff in our lives will bring God and us much joy. Let's play a fun game to help us memorize this verse and learn its truth. It's called "Run the Race". But before we play, let's communicate this verse any times together to get it stuck in our minds.

At this point, communicate the verse, and then play the game. Have fun!
